Jake Sigal believes in metro Detroit, and he has an exciting vision for the region’s place in the world of technological innovation. A third-generation entrepreneur with a passion for integrating hardware and software applications, Jake co-founded Tome Software, Inc. in 2014 to explore the buzzing “Internet of Things” tech space. Always looking forward, Tome is now working with partners to engineer connectivity products designed to keep people mobile and active. Jake founded his first company, Livio, in his Ferndale home in 2008 and successfully engineered software that enabled mobile device apps to work seamlessly with vehicle hardware systems. The company’s work turned heads, and Jake sold Livio to Ford Motor Co. in 2013. A graduate of Ohio University’s Russ College of Engineering, Jake’s trophy case holds more than a dozen of the best awards in the business. He was named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year semifinalist in 2011 and Automation Alley’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2012. In 2014, Jake took home the Detroit Free Press Automotive Leadership Award in the up-and-coming category. Jake and his wife, Abbee, are proud to call Ferndale home. When he’s not pushing the envelope of hardware-software integration, Jake’s life moves to electronic dance beats. He enjoys mountain biking, big-mountain skiing and playing ice hockey.
