Monica Wheat is a Strategist, Educator, and Venture Developer. She is the Founder and Partner at Venture Catalysts, a venture and ecosystem development group and the Managing Director of Backstage Capital's Detroit Accelerator. She is also the Founder and Executive Director of Digerati Girls, Inc. / Digerati Kids, a non-profit that has helped over 7,000+ Detroit-area students gain skills and an introduction to careers in digital technology and entrepreneurship.

Most importantly, Monica is extremely invested in the Detroit tech startup community including Curator for Startup Digest Detroit/Ann Arbor, Director of Startup Next Detroit (Now Startup Boost Detroit), Facilitator/Organizer of Startup Weekend Detroit and former Co-Lead of Women 2.0 Detroit. She regularly speaks at corporations & conferences on topics of digital innovation, ecosystem development, global social media and women in technology.
